Bram Posthumus (1959) is a freelance journalist, who divides his time between Amsterdam and Dakar. He works for Dutch international broadcaster Radio Netherlands Worldwide, The Economist Group, Africa Confidential and ZAM Africa Magazine, as well as for several websites.
"I'm always looking for movers and shakers. People who get something done. They are everywhere in Africa. One11's added value is that it portrays people who don't wait for the arrival of an army of aid workers, but who have just started doing things themselves. No place in the world is more undervalued and misinterpretedvthan Africa. The reason is simple: the aid industry defines the image of Africa displayed in mainstream media. Which is disastrous. So when projects such as One11 try to correct that image, I can only cheer it on."
